Your Story’s Not Over

Photographing your families is one of my greatest joys. There is something so special about being able to take your ordinary moments and make them beautiful.

Today on the blog, I wanted to introduce myself and share a little bit of my story with you.

My story begins in Alabama, where I spent my formative years before moving to Florida as a teenager. However, life had other plans, and I found myself back in Alabama after high school, surrounded by family. At 22, I met the love of my life, Grayson, and in 2016 we embarked on the beautiful journey of marriage. Little did we know that our path was about to be strewn with thorns and petals alike.

After tying the knot, we faced numerous life challenges. We were fervently praying for the right job opportunity to materialize, which eventually led us to Kansas City, Missouri.

Grayson and I had always dreamed of becoming parents, but before our move to Missouri, we experienced our first heart-wrenching loss– an ectopic pregnancy that nearly cost me my life. It was a moment that tested our faith, but we clung to the Lord knowing that a brighter future awaited us.

After settling in Missouri, we were overjoyed to discover that we were expecting again. However, at 13 weeks complications arose, and we welcomed our daughter Olivia Grace into the world at just 15 weeks. This was another trial that left me questioning why it had to happen to us. We decided to take a break from trying and purchased our first home in 2017. During this period we focused on our faith and the blessings that surrounded us.

After our break, we faced another loss in 2018 prompting us to seek medical assistance. We embarked on the journey of IVF and sought the expertise of the best doctor in Kansas City. The process was long and arduous, filled with countless appointments, lab draws, ultrasounds, and shots. Throughout this ordeal, I shared my journey with everyone, relying on the power of prayer.

In 2020, the day finally arrived when we transferred our first embryo. It was a moment of profound joy and faith. God answered our prayers, and in 2021, we welcomed our son Wyatt into the world. He is a pure blessing and an answered prayer for us. We named him Wyatt Glenn after my grandpa who always reminded us to “focus on God“.

Photography Becoming More Than A Passion

When Wyatt was born, I knew I wanted to capture every single moment. Photography had always been my passion, and as a stay-at-home mom, I saw an opportunity to turn that passion into a business. I started with photographs of Wyatt, and as he grew so did my desire to help other families capture their precious memories. I love getting to take newborn photos for families. They are a time when parents are beaming with happiness, marveling at those tiny toes and fingers, and showering their little one with love. It’s a moment when the world seems to stand still, and all that matters is the incredible bond between parents and their newborn.

Being a motherhood and family photographer is incredibly important to me because I get to be part of your family’s story. I witness the love you have for your children, the laughter, and the joy. It’s a privilege to document these moments, freeze them in time, and create lasting memories for you to cherish.

My journey from heartache to happiness has shaped who I am today– a photographer driven by love, faith, and a deep appreciation for life’s precious moments. Capturing these moments for you is not just a profession; it’s a calling. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story and for allowing me to witness the beauty of your love and family.

If you are wanting to freeze your families moments in time, contact me. I would love to preserve your family legacy with you.
